Open Wide Our Hearts, by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops
"But racism still profoundly affects our culture, and it has no place in the Christian heart. This evil causes great harm to its victims, and it corrupts the souls of those who harbor racist or prejudicial thoughts. The persistence of the evil of racism is why we are writing this letter now."
As per the Catechism of the Catholic Church (#1931),
"Respect for the human person proceeds by way of respect for the principle that "everyone should look upon his neighbor (without any exception) as 'another self,'above all bearing in mind his life and the means necessary for living it with dignity."" We are the Body of Christ. We have a responsibility to take care of all our brothers and sisters and end the violence.
